SYNOPSIS

This is the story of three men on death row - Jaggu, a lawyer for murdering his wife; Nagya, also for murdering his wife and Ishaan, a happy-go-lucky who is also arrested for murdering during a shoot out at a bank. The three develop a special bond in prison; becoming friends for the uncertain span of time that fate holds for them. A bittersweet saga about friendship, hope and survival in a world within a world.


QUEER NOTES

The film explores in a small sub-plot, homosexuality in Indian prisons, without sensationalizing or stereotyping. An old jailbird makes a sexual pass at a fresh inmate (Aditya Lakhia) in a candid manner but is put down by Ishaan (Naseeruddin Shah) who is the fresh inmate's mentor. But the old jailbird finally rapes the young inmate brutally and it also revealed that he is HIV+. He is finally killed by another inmate. While the rape is portrayed with chilling reality; two men locking into an embrace in the night is a gentle acknowledgment of homosexuality in prison.
